AmScope B120C Siedentopf binocular microscope 40X-2500X magnification, bright field, LED illumination, Abbe condenser, mechanical double layer stage
Description:
The B120C Compound Binocular Microscope is designed for teaching demonstrations, clinical examinations and laboratory applications. It is an ideal microscope for teachers and students, including those in medical school or with a major in biology. It features a number of advancements in terms of functionality over other microscopes in its class, such as improved LED illumination, a replaceable condenser and Siedentopf head settings. Use the microscope to study stationary or living cells, bacteria, plants, and soil or water samples.
To customize the microscope to your visual comfort, the eyepiece spacing can be easily adjusted using a precision Siedentopf mechanism. Diopter is available on the left eye tube to compensate for asymmetry, and the eye tubes are angled 30 ° to comfortably accommodate a sitting position without neck strain. Various eyepieces can be used to increase the overall optical magnification.
4 high quality lenses are provided
mounted on a rotating turret (Achromatic DIN 4x, 10x, 40xS and 100xS objectives) for instant access to the wide range of magnifications. Additional 25X eyepieces extend the maximum magnification to 2500X and offer 6 separate magnification levels. The high quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy.
The 2-layer mechanical stage allows smooth and precise movement for examining sample slides. The low stage controls are conveniently placed near the coaxial focus knobs for a streamlined workflow. Examining sample slides is intuitive and accurate for users of all skill levels.
LED sub-stage lighting provides cool, energy-efficient lighting. The light source is balanced with daylight to produce natural colors for imaging. With our specially developed fly-eye lens, light is evenly distributed at maximum brightness to improve contrast and resolution.
Characteristics:
A professional biological microscope for education, clinics and veterinarians, and entry-level research
Extended to 6 levels of wide field magnification from 40X to 2500X to visualize a wide range of samples including fixed and living cells, bacteria, etc.
The binocular head offers flexibility and comfort with advanced adjustment functions.
Bright, daylight-balanced LED lighting uses our specialized fly-eye lens for enhanced uniformity and contrast.
The mechanical stage offers a full range of motion with easy-to-use precision controls.
Description
The AmScope B120C Compound Binocular Microscope features 10x widefield and 25x widefield eyepiece pairs, forward-facing nose with four DIN achromatic objectives, Brightfield (BF) LED illumination, a 1.25 NA Abbe condenser and a double-layer mechanical stage. The Siedentopf binocular head has interchangeable pairs of 10x and 25x widefield eyepieces with a Siedentopf interpupillary adjustment of 53 to 77mm, a fixed vertical tilt of 30 degrees to reduce eye and neck fatigue, and a 360 degree rotation capacity. Degrees to provide a more complete view and enable sharing. Dioptric adjustment adapts to individual differences in eye strength. The forward-facing nose features achromatic DIN 4x, 10x, 40xS (spring) and 100xS (spring, oil) objectives that combine with the eyepieces to provide color correction of enlarged images at five magnifications. The 40xS lens is spring loaded to prevent damage caused by sliding when focusing. The 100xS spring oil lens offers increased resolution compared to a standard lens. A compound microscope is used for the inspection and dissection of specimens when two-dimensional images are desired.
The microscope has lower brightfield (transmitted light) illumination that transmits light through the sample for better visibility of translucent and transparent objects. Brightfield illumination (BF) allows the sample to absorb light, resulting in a dark image on a bright background. LED lighting provides bright, cool light for working with temperature sensitive or living specimens. Abbe's 1.25 NA condenser can be adjusted to control the distance of the light from the stage and has a iris diaphragm to optimize the amount of light illuminating the sample. The dual-layer mechanical stage, with 1mm stage divisions, locks the slide in place and allows precise manipulation of the slide along the X and Y axes to allow coordinate registration, allowing the viewer to return to a specific location on the slide. Separate coarse and fine focus knobs speed up focusing. The enamelled cast steel body is durable and resistant to stains and corrosion.

Microscopes are instruments used to improve the resolution of an object or image. The types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes use a compound optical system with an objective and an eyepiece. Stereomicroscopes show the depth of the object in a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display an image on a monitor, rather than looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying magnification capabilities. Magnification capacity refers to the size of an image. Resolution, also known as resolving power, refers to the clarity of the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA) and working distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification via a fixed focus or via a range of settings. They can also use LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to help control viewing abilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, laboratory research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and in the medical, forensic, and veterinary industries.
United Scope manufactures microscopy equipment and accessories under the AmScope brand. The company, founded in 1996, is headquartered in Irvine, California.
